European Patent Litigation Agreement
The European Patent Litigation Agreement (EPLA) was a proposed international agreement to create a unified European patent jurisdiction.
The proposal has been considered dead since 2007.[1]
Software patents
According to patent expert Alison Crofts, the EPLA was heavily supported by the pro-software patent lobby:[2]
The industry-based driving force behind the EPLA comes from the pro-software patent group as a way of ensuring that their software or potential software patents are fully enforceable across Europe.
