Solidarity among campaigns against software patents
Various groups oppose software patents. There's SMEs, the free software community, and economists.
Sometimes, solutions are proposed which would solve the problems of just one of these groups. E.g. state subsidies for SMEs that want to enforce their patents or defend against aggression, or an exemption from the patent system for free software.
These pose a problem for gathering support. Campaigns against software patents already have to work hard to collectively gather sufficient support in parliaments and in courts. If individual campaigns push for a solution that will only solve their problems and will not have the support of other campaigns, the chances of success are much less.
Thus, advice: maintain solidarity with as many anti-software-patent groups as possible.
