Talk:German patent courts and appeals
Which is the "Supreme" court?
I'm wondering how to explain this.
Another wiki contributor removed the sentence about the BGH being sometimes called the "German Supreme Court". Their edit summary was "This is Wrong. The Bundesverfassungsgericht (BVerfG) is the "Supreme Court" of Germany". I looked at Wikipedia, and it seems that person is right.
However, I've found two German-speaking patent lawyers and one US Judge that call the BGH the "German Supreme Court":
- German Supreme Court on Patents on Computer-Implemented Inventions
- German Federal Supreme Court on file hoster responsibility for third party content – “Rapidshare”
- "...German Supreme Court, they have specialization within their court, and he’s part of the Tenth Senate which does all the IP cases, and only IP cases."
So, I guess this wiki should the term "German Supreme Court", except to explain that it's a poor, ambiguous translation. Ciaran 11:14, 31 July 2012 (EDT)
