Talk:In re Alappat ruling by US CAFC on 29 July 1994
Not a decision by the Supreme Court!
For unknown reasons, I am unable to edit the heading of the page, which contains a serious mistake: as the body text presents correctly, the decision was made by the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC), a lower court. That is essential, since the CAFC is bound by the precedents of the Supreme Court, and the Supreme Court may reverse CAFC decisions. In the CAFC there are patent experts who are patent fanatics, proponents of very wide patent protected, whereas the Federal Supreme Court covers all fields of law and usually has a more balanced view on patents. - Hi Reinier. Thanks for pointing out that error. I don't know why renaming the page isn't allowed. We upgraded to MediaWiki 1.21 last week, so maybe that caused the change. I'll have a look at the settings and try to re-enable page renames for non-logged in users. Ciaran (talk) 04:07, 9 June 2013 (EDT)
