It's went public in 2009, but some of the news stories mentioned that Tomtom were first contacted about this by Microsoft in June 2008. I'll look for some references to add to the article. Ciaran 17:12, 7 May 2009 (EDT)

Not a Free Software friendly company

After people heard that TomTom is using the kernel Linux and are now members of the Linux Foundation, they thought they were friendly towards GNU/Linux. But attention: They aren't!
